A. General Information

WordPress Information

To install our theme you should have a working version of WordPress previously installed. If you need help installing WordPress, follow the instructions in WordPress Codex. Below are all the useful links for WordPress information.



What Are The Requirements To Use Our Themes

To use our themes, you must be running WordPress 3.1 or higher, PHP5 or higher, and mysql 5 or higher.


Theme Installation

There are two ways you can install our theme – from your WordPress Administration Panel or Manually via FTP.


B. WordPress Installation

Follow the steps below to install via WordPress Administration Panel.


  • Log in to the WordPress Administration Panels.
  • Select the Appearance panel, then Themes.
  • Select Install Themes.
  • Use the sub-menu or the Search or Filter options to locate a Theme you would like to use.
  • Click on the Install link to upload the Theme to your blog.
  • Use the Upload link in the top sub-menu to upload a zipped copy of a Theme that you have previously downloaded to your machine.


Follow the steps below to install Manually via FTP.


  • Unzip theme file. Do not change the name of the folder by adding extra characters or upper case letters.
  • Using an FTP client to access your host web server, create a directory to save your Theme in the wp-content/themes directory provided by WordPress.
  • Upload the Theme files to the new directory on your host server.
  • Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  • Go to Appearance > Themes and click the Activate link to activate the installed theme.


C. Theme Options Panel


We created an advanced Theme Options panel that is loaded with options. We organized theme options into logical groups and gave descriptions for each item. Please take some time and navigate through each option tab, most things are self explanatory. Go to Appearance > Theme Options to start. Don’t forget to click on Save All Changes to save your settings once you are finished.


D. Adding Posts

Posts are the entries that display in reverse chronological order on your home page. To add a new post to your site:


  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Click the Posts tab.
  • Click the Add New Sub tab.
  • Add a title in the Title entry box.
  • Add your post’s content in the Content box.
  • Choose a Post Format for your post.
  • As needed, select a category, add tags, and make other selections from the sections below the post.
  • When you are ready, click Publish.



E. Adding Pages

Pages are for content that is less time-dependent than Posts. To add a new page:


  • Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  • Go to Pages > Add New.
  • Add a title in the Title entry box.
  • Add your post’s content in the Content box.
  • Choose a page template if there is one available.
  • Choose a parent page for that new page, if desired.
  • When you are ready, click Publish.




G. Setting Up The Portfolio


To setup your portfolio, you need to create a new page. Name that page anything that you want. From Page Attributes select template name Portfolio and click on Publish button. After you create your new page and select the Portfolio template, you need to start making portfolio posts. Each portfolio post will automatically create a thumbnail on Portfolio page.

After your Portfolio page is set, you will need to create posts to show up on the portfolio page. Follow the steps below to create a portfolio post.


  • Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  • Go to Portfolio to open the section.
  • At the top of the page, click on Add New to make a new portfolio post.
  • Add a title in the Title entry box.
  • Add your post’s content in the Content box.
  • Go to Categories box on the right hand side, and click on + Add New Category. Give Category a name. Please note: that category names will appear on the portfolio page above thumbnails, and will work as filters for the different types of your projects.
  • Go to Skills box and follow the same steps like for Cateogires to create a new Skill.
  • Go to Featured Image box and select an image to use as Featured Image. Setting a Featured Image is important because it will show up on portfolio page as thumbnail.
  • Once you finish, click on Publish button and see your post show up on portfolio page.

H. Setting Up The Contact Page


We included a contact page with a built in contact form.


To create the Contact Page, follow the steps below.


  • Create a new page and give it any name you wish.
  • Go to Page Attributes box on the right hand side and set the Template to Contact Page.
  • Insert your content into the page.
  • Once you finish, click on Publish button to save.
  • Go to Appearance > Theme Options > Contact Options to set options like Google Map and email.



I. Shortcodes

We included large collection of shortcodes that allows users to create beautiful and complex designs with ease. All shortcodes can be accessed from the Visual Editor field located under “Kitchen Sink” panel. See the screenshot below to see where they are located. Click on a shortcode icon and see the code populated inside the visual editor. Visit our demo code page for additional examples.


J. How To Translate

To translate the theme into your language with Poedit, follow the steps below.


  • Download and install Poedit
  • Download the official WordPress POT file
  • Open the file in Poedit.
  • Use the translation field to make replacements.
  • Go to File → Save as… to save your translations in a PO file.
  • When you are finished translating, go to File → Save as… again to generate the MO file.
  • Create a directory named languages inside of wp-includes, if it does not already exist.
  • Upload translated files into languages directory.
  • Edit wp-config.php file and set WPLANG to your chosen language. For example: define (‘WPLANG’, ‘es_ES’);
